Lesley Green isn’t your typical project consultant. She’s a detail-oriented, team-focused strategist with the rare ability to see both the forest and the trees. Through her practical, roll-up-her-sleeves approach, she consistently brings order to chaos - separating a project’s grey areas into black and white by bringing each piece into focus, nailing down details, and focusing on the strategic end goal. With a career spanning more than 30 years in the global marine/shipping industry, Lesley has the right combination of experience, insight, and drive to identify, lead and implement strategic initiatives, program and project management, and business process improvements.
Lesley understands that successful project management –especially when it comes to large, complex projects – is equal parts art and science. The science manifests as Gantt charts and project management plans, while the art lives in curating the right collection of experts, creative insights, and motivation to not only design a project, but also to implement it at a high level of excellence.
Equally comfortable in the C-suite and on the front lines, Lesley brings her unique blend of strategic perspective and experience to any project challenge.
Lesley Green spent 20 years of her career managing complex projects for a global shipping company, where she led initiatives to update IT and communications systems, improve internal processes, and implement business transformation projects. This experience with a large, well-run company in the midst of a tremendous growth period gave her the tools, best practices and experience to lead successful change management initiatives.
Later in her career, Lesley oversaw a $165M portfolio for Western Canada Marine Response Corp. – including 43 vessel builds spanning three different countries and 11 civil and marine infrastructure projects. She served in the centre of the action: negotiating contracts, recruiting and leading a global, multi-disciplinary team, and working with multiple stakeholders including the Board of Directors, engineers, consultants, government agencies, regulatory authorities, and First Nations.
In addition, she built the company’s first Project Management Office, establishing a project governance structure and implementing project management methodologies, controls, and best practices.
Under Lesley’s leadership, this multi-disciplinary team eventually grew from 25 to 200 members.
Ultimately, Lesley’s background has sharpened her keen eye for what works, what doesn’t work, what is often overlooked, and where potential pitfalls lie when it comes to change management.
This makes her an ideal partner for any organization experiencing complex change. You’ll find Lesley to be a passionate and authentic leader who cares deeply about both the people and projects she manages.
She is driven to succeed and is committed to delivering the best possible outcomes for her teams and clients. Lesley's leadership and experience make her an invaluable asset to any project – she brings immediate value and leaves a lasting positive impact on any organization she partners with.
In addition to her deep and varied experience as a strategic business leader and project director, Lesley holds respected credentials that foster confidence in her leadership, insight, and ability to achieve project excellence.
